Designing for 98 million YouTube DAU and 7m YouTube Shorts DAU, I created new features to drive more users to short-form videos:
• Resize content
• Pivot content type
• Show playlist for shorts
• Skip to new section
• Show more same content
I worked both independently and collaboratively with 1 UXR, 2PM, 3+ machine learning ENG. Some of the design proposals came out of a YouTube Shorts-First Search design sprint. Proposals were then presented to directors at YouTube and are now in 1% experiments.
